Patients suffering from hypertension, high blood pressure, blood disorders and possess a history of seizures, hyperthyroidism, bone marrow suppression, tumors, kidney diseases, liver problems and weak immune system should inform the physician before taking this drug. If you have used an MAO inhibitor in last 14 days then it advised not to take Linezolid. There are certain medicines and formulations which may lead to drug interactions if taken with Linezolid. It is recommended to consult with the doctor regarding any other medications. Hypersensitivity to any of the properties of this drug can cause severe allergic reaction hence it needs to be informed to the pharmacist. After taking this medicine patient may feels slight dizziness therefore driving and any other heavy duties needs to be avoided. Eating food which contains tyramine can elevate the blood pressure and can cause life threatening condition. Food contains high level of tyramine  include fermented meats, old cheese, aged meat, smoked or slightly burnt meats, red wine, sauerkraut,  soy sauce, and tap beer. These food needs to be avoided during the medication of Linezolid. Alcohol consumption also needs to be restricted. In case of pregnant women and nursing mothers the risk ratio of this drug should be discussed with the doctor before starting with it.
